ChocKalá Shipping Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Made to order

Every ChocKalá chocolate is made in small batches to order. Please allow 3–5 business days for production before your order is dispatched. During peak gifting periods (the December holidays, Valentine's Day, Easter, and Mother's Day) production may take 5–7 business days, so ordering early is a good idea.

Where we ship

We ship within Canada only, by Canada Post , UPS or a comparable carrier. Once dispatched, orders typically arrive in 3–7 business days depending on your destination, and rural or remote postal codes can take longer. Carrier timelines are estimates, not guarantees, so if your order is tied to a specific date please contact us before ordering and we'll tell you honestly whether it's realistic.

Seasonal shipping pause (May–September)

We do not ship chocolate between May and September. Summer transit temperatures in Canada can't be managed reliably in a parcel, and we'd rather pause than send you a box that arrives ruined. During these months:

  • Store pickup in Liberty Village remains open for all orders.
  • Wholesale and corporate orders are hand delivered by our team. Contact us to arrange timing and coverage.

Standard courier shipping resumes in October. If you place an order during the pause, we'll reach out to arrange pickup, hand delivery where eligible, or a hold until shipping reopens.

Store pickup — Liberty Village, Toronto

Select Store Pickup at checkout and we'll email you when your order is ready, usually within 2–3 business days. Please wait for that ready notification before coming by, since everything is made fresh per order.

Packaging

Orders are packed in protective, food-safe packaging built to keep bars and bonbons intact in transit. Outside the summer pause, cooler shipping temperatures do most of the work for us. We still recommend shipping to an address where someone can bring the parcel indoors promptly rather than leaving it on a doorstep, and we don't claim any packaging is melt-proof.

Tracking

You'll get an email with a tracking number when your order ships, which you can follow on the carrier's site. If tracking hasn't updated for 3 business days after your dispatch email, or the carrier shows the parcel delivered but it isn't there, email chockalatoronto@gmail.com and we'll chase it with the carrier.

If your order arrives damaged

Chocolate is perishable and transit isn't perfect. If your order arrives crushed, melted beyond enjoyment, or otherwise compromised:

  1. Photograph it right away — the outer box and the contents, before unpacking further or discarding anything.
  2. Email chockalatoronto@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number, photos, and a short description.
  3. We review each case individually and will work with you on a fair resolution, which may be a replacement, store credit, or another remedy depending on the circumstances.

We can't accept returns on perishable food, but we stand behind what we make and we'll do our best to put it right.
